Hey there, summer is upon us, and it’s a great time for blasting around on the water on a jet ski! And cranking up the A/C and watching baseball on TV! And gazing up at the night ski looking for that new home that becomes a more and more realistic possibility every day (you’ve probably heard that asteroids are now KNOWN to have water on them…so even THEY can probably support life)!
In the spirit or our eventual departure to our new planetary home, I thought I’d combat those inevitable lists of “Things You Can Do to Recycle (or whatever)” with my own summer list.
Top 5 Tips for Enjoying Summer More (without wasting any time recycling).
5. Replace your light bulbs. With cheap-o ones that don’t cost as much as those curled-up ones. We’ll be gone before those newfangled ones die…so save your money for something fun like a cold beer or soda.
4. Stay cool. Georgia’s hot in the summer. Use your A/C, that’s why you got it! If you want to pay more, you should be comfy. Keep your house cool when you’re not home, so you don’t sweat when you return home!
3. Jet ski more. You’ll love the wind in your hair, and the spray from the water, and the wake you can cause when you blast by the public beaches…but make sure you top off your gas tank, running out of gas out in the middle of a lake sucks!
2. Use recyclable grocery bags…to carry beers in to the beach or camping. They’re much stronger than the plastic ones you get. Plus, you can get all the plastic ones you want at most grocery stores.
And, the Number One tip for having fun this summer:
1. Wash your car every day. I’ve found it’s a lot easier to get off dirt and bird crap if you wash your car daily, so the hot sun can’t bake it on your car. Plus, it’s like swimming for your car, you know. And you can imagine how hot your car gets just sitting there in the sun. And, you’ll look great in your 1978 Monte Carlo if the paint that’s still on it is shiny and clean!
Enjoy your summer, good people! And here’s to looking forward to a summer on our new planet really soon!
