Why Should I Recycle?

I’ve heard a ton of reasons to recycle, but I’m still not convinced. Why do YOU think I should recycle?

Tell Justin why he should recycle:

What other people have said

You should recycle because if you don't you will be stereotyped and demeaned as a mean, uncaring, selfish, redneck, idiot, republican, earth destroyer (who hates babies). You will also get a false sense of importance and pride. Don't let anyone (especially the government) make you feel guilty so you'll do what they want.

Keep up the good work! Another government web page wasting our tax dollars.

Justin, At your age if you don't start recycling, you will have no place to put some of your garbage when you get older. Keep flexing and start recycling.
Alfreda Reynolds, Snellville, Georgia

you tire a cute kid if you recycle more you will be a smart kid( young man) too.
Emily, athens

Justin, it's easy! My children are just a little older than you and they make a game out of sorting the recycling. They also know that their efforts help to ensure a beautiful world for them when they grow up. And I make sure to point out to them when things are made from recycled materials, so they get to see where all that plastic and paper they sort goes!
Julie, Stockbridge, GA

it will make you feel good justin to recycle and believe it or not it will make the earth healthier for you when you get older!!!

Justin, Check out RecycleGuys.org for information on how to recycle. It's easy. Can Guy

Hey Justin you should ask your parents to take you to a Materials Recovery Facility for a tour! Lots of cool machines and lots of fun ways to learn all about recycling! Keep flexing those muscles buddy!
Anne, Savannah, GA

As a three year old, the world is your diaper. Stink it up! Then grow up and get potty trained like the rest of us. Start with recycling (and not littering), then avoid wasting energy and fuel. Care about the planet 'cause you will be living on it for a while! You may feel invincible as a kid but there's a reason to look over the horizon and care about it all, because we're all connected on this one earth. You've got a great opportunity to learn and make things better in your lifetime, kid. Nowhere to go but up, really. More recycling means that kids everywhere may have a chance to enjoy some of the resources that American kids like you, every day, have and take for granted.
Jordan, Columbus

Learning about the world you live in is important. Your parents generation and before have lived a very natural-resource rich life, but if you want to live in a beautiful and resource-rich world, doing things you want, you need to learn how not to waste resources, but constructively use and enjoy them so they will be here for your children.

Every time you recycle, a fairy gets her (eco-friendly, biodegradable)wings! A side note to the site designers, you cycle through these characters on the front page waaaay too fast!!!

Don't let these guys get to you too soon. Sure recycling is often a good idea,... but be careful NOT to get too much caught up into the "group think" of this global warming nonsense. Try to UNDERSTAND what's behind all of this,... don't just accpet it.

You're at the perfect age to start recycling. Then you teach your parents and they teach their friends, and so on, and so on, and so on. Plus, recycling is the COOL thing to do !
K. Key, Monticello, GA

Hey Justin just remember that all good things come in threes. You are three and there are three 'R's for you to learn - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Got it? Great, now go tell your parents!
Zazu, Cumming

Hey Justin, think of all the great new playground equipment that is built with recycled materials!
Jen, Niceville

I let my kids stomp on the milk jug when we are finished and then they put it in the recycling bin. They get such joy from flattening things we let them move right on to the cereal boxes as well (its all about simples pleasures). They will someday grow out of this "fun" stage, but hopefully by then it will be a habit.
Bronwyn, Rome

Poor little buddy. This is totally my nephew! What a great opportunity missed to convince our babies to be more aware of their environment. I honestly think it transcends into their everyday life and makes them a better friend, student, and person! Recycling is the easiest way to start.
Gaby, Atlanta

As a parent of a 14-month old, I feel it is important to set a good example for your children -- and showing them how to take care of the environment by recycling is an easy first step. Walk the walk when it comes to your kids and they will follow.
