Recycling may not be as easy as throwing an item into the trash but it helps everyone and the world. Think about how styrofoam will never decompose and how this stuff (along with all our other trash) ends up in the ocean and space consuming landfills. Recycling doesn't cost as much as you might think. The reason prices are high is because not enough people do it and the companies aren't getting enough material to make it worth the effort. You should encourage others to recycle to save our resources and to save money. =D

You can save money. Programs like Recyclebank are catching on in various places, maybe it will come to your town soon. Meanwhile, if you separate your recycling from the garbage you will find you have much less trash to take out each week. I'm down to a bag a week in my household of 3... More time to keep those feet propped up on a coffee table. (I recommend reusing old secondhand milk crates for end tables and book shelves.)

You're fine man. Recycling is just a lame attempt to bring us "back to nature." Besides, you're already recycling, if you use your bin for a table--the bin was old and not used, so you recycled it and turned it into a coffee table. Problem solved!

Being that you use your recycling bin as a coffee table indicates you have limited resources, so you should appreciate the fact that recycling saves (in real terms) resources.
